Pensacola & Atlantic Railroad is chartered, financed by L&N Railroad, to run east from Pensacola to Georgia border. Construction begins three months later. Groundbreaking ceremonies are held in Pensacola August 22.

The Apalachicola River bridge is completed. P&A connects at River Junction with Florida Central & Western line to Jacksonville and Savannah, Florida and Western line to Savannah.

The P&A becomes a Division of the L&N Railroad and ceases operating as an independent line.

Southern States Land and Timber Company purchases Muscogee logging line and builds extension to Local, Alabama.

Oct 15, 1892

Pensacola & Northern Railroad is incorporated by Henry McLaughlin and six others. They also buy controlling interest in the P&P. On November 3, 1892, the P&N's name is changed to the Pensacola, Alabama, & Tennessee Railroad.

The Milton depot burns. The L&N builds the present depot on the site of the original depot and it reopens in 1909.
