Alabama and Florida Railroad is chartered to run from Pensacola to Pollard, Alabama, to connect with an Alabama line to Montgomery.

Pensacola & Mobile Railroad & Manufacturing Company is chartered. Service begins in 1862 between Cantonment and Muscogee mills; its tracks are taken within a year by Confederate officials in Civil War.
